It’s been said that life is not about the destination, it’s about the journey. But what happens when the destination and the journey combine?
You get something innovative, quirkly and one-of-a-kind — something like the Roosevelt Land Yacht Club. The name is tongue-in-cheek, but the project itself is a fascinating way to activate an underutilized strip of land in the heart of the Arts District in Phoenix.
The Roosevelt Land Yacht Club will convert land surrounding a parking structure at First Street and Roosevelt into a unique, pedestrian-friendly and centrally located residential development catering to artists and creatives. This is no apartment complex — the preliminary concept for the Roosevelt Land Yacht Club is to integrate actual vintage travel trailers into a structure that’s half housing, half work of art.
