Motor Row Market

A one-of-a-kind Food and Beverage Market in the historic Motor Row District of Chicago. The building features 8,250 SF of retail/showroom space, one drive in door at the rear of the building and approximately 50’ of frontage on Michigan Avenue. 2317 S. Michigan is on the Historic Landmark registry and embodies many of the design elements used during the early 1900s. The property was designed by architects Mundie & Jensen and was originally used as the Schillo Motor Sales Co. Showroom.

Motor Row Market will be primely located one block west of McCormick Place, the Museum Campus, Chinatown, and the Green Line. Today the warehouse-style space is a neighborhood anchor that thoughtfully infuses the building’s historic past into its modern-day aesthetic. The structure and menu will be designed to reflect uniqueness, thoughtfulness, quality, and relevance. The décor will feature natural textures and industrial material including steel and rustic wood. The bow truss ceiling offers an exceptional feature to the design and plays well with the market’s rustic, yet modern flare. Guests will be greeted by a large self serving bar with craft beers and batch cocktails. Guests will have the choice of a comfortable bar stool, intimate booth seating or main dining room.

Today, the Motor Row neighborhood is undergoing revitalization efforts to preserve its rich heritage and attract visitors. Some of the historic buildings have been renovated into trendy restaurants, bars, and art galleries, while others have been converted into residential loft spaces. The architecture of Motor Row is a sight to behold, with a mix of Beaux-Arts, Art Deco, and Gothic Revival styles. It is a must-visit destination for history buffs, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone seeking to experience the charm of Chicago’s past.
