    It’s Jonathan Vento’s vision that drives everything True North Studio does. Vento’s successes in business and development, combined with his commitment to creating exceptional spaces, is at the heart of the studio’s work and sets the tone for the company’s development projects. Jonathan believes that art is an integral part of development, and development should be a showcase for art. He enjoys combining the historic and the modern, creating environments and experiences that refine and define the communities in which they exist. Drawing inspiration from the light-hearted, joyful side of life, Jonathon Vento and the True North team bring a fresh approach to each individual building or project, with the goal of positively influencing the communities in which they work.

    Jonathon has built and managed more than 150 projects and operating companies throughout the US, Europe and Asia over his 30-year career in real estate, renewable energy, technology and manufacturing, totaling over $5 billion. He has managed combined staffs of over 1,000 people in his roles as president and COO.
    He is committed to a responsible, sustainable approach to every project the studio takes on, exercising care to preserve history while developing spaces that represent and inspire their surrounding communities. An ardent supporter of the arts, Jonathan concentrates much of his efforts on helping his projects attract world-class creative enterprises as part of their fabric.

    In addition to overseeing renewable energy, real estate, technology and manufacturing projects in excess of $3 billion throughout America, Europe and Asia, Jonathan has considerable management experience, overseeing a workforce of more than 1,000 in his previous roles as company president and Chief Operating Officer. He was the founder of Blue Energy Companies, a Europe-based purveyor of wind turbines, solar panels and other sustainable building solution.

    Born and bred in the United States, Jonathan spent time living in Europe and Japan before returning stateside, and he now calls Phoenix home, where he focuses much of his philanthropic efforts on eradicating homelessness and promoting the arts community.

    Jordan Taylor focuses on making the True North Studio's vision for exceptional development pencil out on paper. He draws upon his extensive background in accounting and his broad knowledge of tax laws and practices to make sound decisions with regard to real estate investments. A one-time owner of his own tax and accounting firm — which saw considerable success throughout Phoenix, Arizona, and Seattle, Washington — Jordan sold the firm in 2017 with the intent of shifting his focus to his other areas of expertise and interest, including advanced estate tax planning and consulting.

    Nowadays, he concentrates much of his professional efforts on making True North Studio’s diverse real estate projects succeed financially and ensure the studio’s financial operations and investments are secure. But while finance is a key focus, Jordan also prides himself on taking an artful and thoughtful approach to development, assisting with the creation of spaces that draw on the senses, preserve history and enhance cultural appreciation while delivering considerable curb appeal at the same time.

    A seasoned Certified Public Accountant who closely tracks and follows all tax laws and associated changes, Jordan is an invaluable resource to the True North Studio team and an industry authority who understands how responsible investment and development can positively impact communities. A married father of five, Jordan splits his off-hours between his home in Phoenix and a family cabin in Prescott.

    In 2014, Brendan Morrow drew on his 14 years experience in construction, development and
    design to found Drive Development Partners. As Director of Senior Housing for The Weitz
    Company, Brendan oversaw the development, preconstruction and construction for owners,
    developers, operators, non-profits, and investors. In the four years since establishing Drive
    Development, Brendan has successfully developed and managed over 1.3 million square feet and nearly 964 units of senior living at all acuity levels with industry-leading companies including
    The Freshwater Group, Avanti, Prevarian and Solterra Senior Living.
    Prior to the founding of Drive, Brendan rose through the ranks of construction operations and
    was an integral team leader in the construction of more than seven million square feet of projects with a specific focus on senior housing as well as hotel and resort. This background in
    construction operations coupled with design build experience provided a unique perspective
    on how to best serve his clients. This client focused approach in construction lead Brendan on
    a path to find alternative delivery methods for the development model. Rather than managing
    only one aspect of a project, Brendan’s talent lies in this ability to provide a range of services
    from site selection and entitlements through construction and closeout. Identifying the right
    product for the market is one of the major takeaways from with so many great development
    teams.
    What makes Drive Development Partners’ approach to projects unique is their willingness to
    break with norms to create exceptional projects. Brendan has successfully taken projects from
    concept to stabilization and integrated a variety of financing sources, including EB5, private
    equity, tax credit and bond financing. Tailoring the right capital structure to each project
    allows for Drive to develop projects at all price points in any market.
    Drive Development Partners’ projects have spanned across California, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana and Florida with plans for new sites in Colorado and New Mexico.     Ryan Kerr brings a purposeful, high-energy approach to every project he takes on, creating functional, inviting developments that help preserve history while delivering world-class arts and cultural appeal. In addition to taking a responsible and creative approach to architecture and development, Ryan prioritizes projects that improve liveability and enhance public health, safety and environmental sustainability.

    Ryan has large scale mixed-use development and finance experience working for companies in Los Angeles and Phoenix, including Caruso Affiliated. In addition, Ryan has gained extensive development experience working for an owner/operator with retail properties throughout the Midwest. He has worked on a variety of product types, including commercial, office, and hospitality.

    Ryan continues to leverage a unique combination of real estate development experience and strategic partnerships he gained from his past endeavors. Out of college, he served as an Analyst for prominent companies in Los Angeles, notably Wasserman Media Group and the National Football League.

    Ryan graduated from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California with a focus in Real Estate Development and Finance and prides himself on his ability to effectively inject the arts, history and a sense of pride and community into every effort he takes on.

    Nate Sonoskey utilizes his broad background in architecture, development and international travel to assist the team with projects that inspire and elevate their communities. A registered architect in Arizona and Illinois and a member of the American Institute of Architects, Nate is well-versed in how to create, design and deliver innovative spaces, having assisted with a wide range of commercial, multi-family, single-family, hospitality, higher education and municipal projects over the course of his career. A recent first-time father, Nate spent much of his formative years in Houston, Texas, and Washington, D.C., and when not in the company of his family, he is working to further his dream of developing downtown Phoenix into the next great American city.

With a 15-year background in community development, public & private partnerships, marketing, event production and fundraising, Dorina’s strengths include identifying, vetting, and developing mutually beneficial and sustainable relationships between entrepreneurs, corporations, nonprofit organizations, community groups, and government agencies. A fifth-generation Arizonan, Dorina has a vested interest in the cultural and economic growth of the Phoenix metropolitan area, including Downtown Phoenix, and is a passionate advocate for the arts, parks, tourism, historic preservation, multi-modal transportation, entrepreneurialism and veteran affairs. She also engages in a number of altruistic efforts throughout the region, serving as a board, committee or coalition member for a variety of Valley nonprofit organizations.

    Operations

    Jim La Marche is a versatile operations professional whose broad skill set allows him to oversee a wide range of company efforts, from systems and operations to finance and investor relations. Prior to signing on at True North Studio, Jim resided in Tokyo, Japan, where he assisted with the launch of Blue Energy Partners, an innovative solar development company that was among the first to enter Japan’s growing renewable energy market following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. Tempe’s own First Solar, a leading global provider of comprehensive photovoltaic solar systems, ultimately acquired the company’s broad portfolio. Before working in development and capital markets, Jim was a counter-terrorism analyst and also served as the managing director of the Thunderbird School of Global Management’s private equity and venture capital department. A graduate of Arizona State University with a Master of Foreign Policy from Seton Hall University, Jim is an Arizona native with a sincere interest in the continued success and expansion of Downtown Phoenix.

From assisting with the Roosevelt Row Arts District to helping guide the team through other projects that stimulate, intrigue and command public attention, Rebecca recognizes True North Studio’s role in celebrating the history of a given space while simultaneously reimagining it and making it suitable for modern use. With a background in retail leasing, community development and commercial real estate, among other disciplines, she has a hand in a wide range of True North Studio endeavors, from lifestyle-based efforts to accounting, administrative and human resource-related tasks.

    Debbie Cooper’s diverse professional background lends itself well to her current role in True North Studios’ operations department, where she supports a never-ending array of company efforts ranging from coordinating travel and processing orders to managing calendars and stocking supplies. After successful stints in commercial real estate and real estate development, she went on to enjoy a more than 13-year career working for one of the world’s largest personal care and cleaning product retailers, and now, she’s a key source of support for the True North team, assisting with an ever-expanding stream of innovative, forward-thinking projects

    Cydney Guess oversees the operations of MonOrchid, the historic Sarah H. Pemberton House and any new historic or existing properties True North Studio takes on. From spearheading and overseeing major building renovations to assisting with the creation of revenue-generating platforms in automated parking garage systems, she is always looking for ways to streamline processes and improve results. Whether it’s proactively working to enhance safety and security in certain environments or installing lighting to make a space feel more vibrant and inviting, Cydney prides herself on her ability to make others feel comfortable and at home in virtually any space.

    Accounting

    Sarah Congdon plays a critical role for True North Studio in oversight of finances, tracking spending and budgeting and otherwise making sure all financial trains remain on track. Meticulous and detail-oriented, she came to True North Studio after 16 years at an accounting firm where she managed the financial affairs of more than 200 clients, overseeing everything from payroll tax and payroll tax compliance efforts to sales tax considerations, audits and related accounting efforts.

    Brittany Shulman is responsible for integrating finance, communication and securities law compliance into all company efforts and endeavors. In addition to helping develop investor confidence and increase shareholder value, Brittany manages equity research and investor relationships to ensure effective communications between True North, the surrounding financial community and other key constituencies. By placing an emphasis on capital and strategy consulting and creating unique real estate business models specializing in off-market acquisition searches, Brittany has cemented herself an indispensable resource for the True North financial team. An avid traveler and an ardent supporter of the arts and culture, Brittany spends her off-hours playing tennis, exploring the globe or enjoying live music or art.

    Mitch Pinckard began his financial career in New York City in 1999 working in the financial services, insurance and capital markets industry, where he participated in secondary public offerings of securities and helped raise capital through alternative lending sources. In 2011, he obtained his Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) from Arizona State University and as the real estate market began to improve in 2014, he formed MPact Development and Capital to leverage a combined 15 years of progressive finance and real estate experience. MPact was involved in multiple facets of project development and financing including capital raising, structuring debt and equity financing on value-add and ground up projects, for mixed-use, hotel, healthcare, office, retail, residential single family and multifamily, student housing, and solar projects across the country. Mitch has formed strong relationships in real estate capital and development with insurance companies, endowment funds, private equity and debt funds, other alternative lending sources, and high net worth individuals and institutions.

    In 2018, MPact started raising capital for projects sponsored by True North Studio in Phoenix. That relationship continued to grow, and in 2019, Mitch joined True North as part of the Finance and Development team, by structuring a strategic joint venture partnership with an Opportunity Zone fund to develop and build a class A hi-rise multifamily project in downtown Phoenix. Mitch continues to raise capital for all True North’s projects, with an emphasis on finance and development of True North’s Opportunity Zone portfolio. Mitch enjoys spending time with his wife of 9 years and two boys.

She is responsible for creating Pro Formas for True North Studio’s extensive portfolio of projects, using her analytical ability, interpersonal skills, industry knowledge and ability to recognize industry trends to help investors make smart decisions that ultimately lead to strong returns. By keeping track of data and analytics, Jamila creates solid, low-risk financial plans that boost profit margins and enhance investor confidence. A graduate of Arizona State University, Jamila spent five years serving as a brokerage project administrator at Vanguard in Scottsdale before signing on at True North Studio.

    Matthew O’Malley began his hospitality career more than 30 years ago at the 5-star Helmsly Palace Hotel in the 80’s. His career has continued to evolve tremendously. Matthew transitioned from Manager to Owner & Operator at the age of 21, in 1992, with the opening of his first concept, O’Malley’s Schoolyard Tavern in the Chicago Lakeview area. Since that time, he has gone on to create, develop, own and operate concepts such as Tiny Lounge, The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant, Clock Tower Café, Wabash Tap, Park Grill, Zapatista, Grace O’Malley’s, and City Tavern. While opening several new concepts in Chicago, Matthew worked with and consulted with many of the top hospitality operators in the United States.

    Matthew has aligned his passion for hospitality with the real estate industry. He is committed to creating beautiful hospitality concepts in areas of transition that add value to the neighborhoods and communities they serve. Over the years, he has actively repurposed over 20 development projects, including a boutique hotel.

    Matthew’s hands –on- approach has provided him with a great deal of understanding of the industry. His goal is to provide a uniquely personalized experience with great attention to detail. Matthew has a strong conviction in the success of Chicago’s Motor Row neighborhood. His perseverance in its triumph is evidenced by a long history of property ownership within the corridor. O’Malley has a love of civil service and under his leadership he has consistently brought together the City of Chicago leaders, stakeholders, and property owners to create a public private partnership to revitalize areas of transition, including Motor Row.

    Cydney Guess oversees the operations of MonOrchid, the historic Sarah H. Pemberton House and any new historic or existing properties True North Studio takes on. From spearheading and overseeing major building renovations to assisting with the creation of revenue-generating platforms in automated parking garage systems, she is always looking for ways to streamline processes and improve results. Whether it’s proactively working to enhance safety and security in certain environments or installing lighting to make a space feel more vibrant and inviting, Cydney prides herself on her ability to make others feel comfortable and at home in virtually any space.

    Sarah Congdon plays a critical role for True North Studio in oversight of finances, tracking spending and budgeting and otherwise making sure all financial trains remain on track. Meticulous and detail-oriented, she came to True North Studio after 16 years at an accounting firm where she managed the financial affairs of more than 200 clients, overseeing everything from payroll tax and payroll tax compliance efforts to sales tax considerations, audits and related accounting efforts.

    Mitch Pinckard began his financial career in New York City in 1999 working in the financial services, insurance and capital markets industry, where he participated in secondary public offerings of securities and helped raise capital through alternative lending sources. In 2011, he obtained his Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) from Arizona State University and as the real estate market began to improve in 2014, he formed MPact Development and Capital to leverage a combined 15 years of progressive finance and real estate experience. MPact was involved in multiple facets of project development and financing including capital raising, structuring debt and equity financing on value-add and ground up projects, for mixed-use, hotel, healthcare, office, retail, residential single family and multifamily, student housing, and solar projects across the country. Mitch has formed strong relationships in real estate capital and development with insurance companies, endowment funds, private equity and debt funds, other alternative lending sources, and high net worth individuals and institutions.

    In 2018, MPact started raising capital for projects sponsored by True North Studio in Phoenix. That relationship continued to grow, and in 2019, Mitch joined True North as part of the Finance and Development team, by structuring a strategic joint venture partnership with an Opportunity Zone fund to develop and build a class A hi-rise multifamily project in downtown Phoenix. Mitch continues to raise capital for all True North’s projects, with an emphasis on finance and development of True North’s Opportunity Zone portfolio. Mitch enjoys spending time with his wife of 9 years and two boys.

By keeping track of data and analytics, Jamila creates solid, low-risk financial plans that boost profit margins and enhance investor confidence. A graduate of Arizona State University, Jamila spent five years serving as a brokerage project administrator at Vanguard in Scottsdale before signing on at True North Studio.

    Matthew O’Malley began his hospitality career more than 30 years ago at the 5-star Helmsly Palace Hotel in the 80’s. His career has continued to evolve tremendously. Matthew transitioned from Manager to Owner & Operator at the age of 21, in 1992, with the opening of his first concept, O’Malley’s Schoolyard Tavern in the Chicago Lakeview area. Since that time, he has gone on to create, develop, own and operate concepts such as Tiny Lounge, The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant, Clock Tower Café, Wabash Tap, Park Grill, Zapatista, Grace O’Malley’s, and City Tavern. While opening several new concepts in Chicago, Matthew worked with and consulted with many of the top hospitality operators in the United States.

    Matthew has aligned his passion for hospitality with the real estate industry. He is committed to creating beautiful hospitality concepts in areas of transition that add value to the neighborhoods and communities they serve. Over the years, he has actively repurposed over 20 development projects, including a boutique hotel.

    Matthew’s hands –on- approach has provided him with a great deal of understanding of the industry. His goal is to provide a uniquely personalized experience with great attention to detail. Matthew has a strong conviction in the success of Chicago’s Motor Row neighborhood. His perseverance in its triumph is evidenced by a long history of property ownership within the corridor. O’Malley has a love of civil service and under his leadership he has consistently brought together the City of Chicago leaders, stakeholders, and property owners to create a public private partnership to revitalize areas of transition, including Motor Row.
